If You Are a People-Pleasing Director Ready to Advance to VP Without Burnout or Guilt – Here Is How We Work Together
1:1 Leadership Coaching — 3 Month Intensive
Deep transformation work for people-pleasing Directors who are ready to address the pattern at the root. Not tips. Not tactics. But the real work, combining corporate strategy, leadership psychology, nervous system regulation, and career navigation, that creates lasting change at VP level and beyond.
This is not a programme about becoming harder or caring less. The caring is not the problem. What changes is the relationship between your own clarity and other people’s comfort. You stop needing the second to function as the first. And from that shift, everything else follows.
Recent Outcomes
Director (Tech): VP promotion in 6 months. €75K total comp increase. Stopped working weekends. Team now autonomous.
Director (Consumer Goods): Said no to 3 major projects. Reputation increased, not damaged.
VP (Finance): Turned down London secondment. No guilt. Negotiated remote work instead. Family intact.
Director (Consulting): Left Big 4 for boutique. €180K package up from €140K. Set boundaries in negotiation.
Most leadership coaching works at the surface. It gives people-pleasing Directors frameworks, scripts, and strategies and stops there.
But people-pleasing patterns do not live at the surface. They live in the nervous system, the beliefs, and the identity built around never letting anyone down. Which is why insight alone rarely changes them. And why so many Directors arrive already knowing and still stuck.
My approach addresses the pattern at four levels.
First, where it originated, because understanding the root of the people-pleasing pattern is the beginning of having a choice about it. Second, why it persists, because the pattern is not a flaw, it is a strategy that once worked and has not yet been replaced with something better. Third, how it shows up in your specific leadership context, in your diary, your decisions, your relationships with stakeholders, and the opportunities you are not yet taking. And fourth, what it actually takes to lead differently, sustainably and without losing the qualities that made you exceptional in the first place.
The work combines corporate strategy, self and stakeholder psychology, emotional intelligence, and body practice. It is informed by 14 years in investment banking, 3,000+ executive coaching sessions with senior leaders, and the ICF PCC credential. But more than any of that, it is informed by having lived this pattern myself, at Director level, and having found a way through it.
This is not about becoming a different person. It is about finally leading as all of who you are.
P.S. I write a lot about this pattern and how to expand your leadership toolkit beyond it in my blog and in the Newsletter Exceptional and Exhausted — read it on LinkedIn.
